In the upcoming sections, you’ll get to learn how marketers in various industries are leveraging AI tools to support content creation and what their experience with these tools has been like so far. You’ll also get some great tips and strategic insights on making the most out of AI content creation tools.
TL;DR – What to look for in an AI content generator to support content creation?
- When selecting an AI content generator, research to identify tools that align with your specific requirements. Focus on your immediate needs, such as content creation, AI content ideas generation, etc. before exploring additional features. By starting with a specific area of focus, you can avoid investing in software that goes underutilized. Narrato is a good place to start, as it caters to individual users with limited requirements as well as content teams that need advanced capabilities.
- AI writers and content generators have a wide range of capabilities, including generating text, suggesting ideas, improving grammar and style, assisting with content personalization and topical research, to name a few. But if you are new to these AI tools, start small. Use them for simple tasks like outlining, rewriting, and brainstorming. And gradually build your way up to more complex and intricate content creation processes.
- If you’re having trouble getting the desired content from AI tools, remember that the AI content generator’s output is not solely determined by the technology but also depends on the information and instructions given by the user.
- AI tools need clear guidance to deliver excellent results. To maximize effectiveness, use power prompts for complex tasks, but use them sparingly for simpler requests; refine AI models by giving feedback and follow-up prompts; create a library of ChatGPT prompts that can be reused and improved over time.
- Always check AI-generated content for factual errors and plagiarism, as AI tools may sometimes pull outdated or copied information. Generative AI tools may also provide inaccurate stories, dates, and quotes, depending on the date they’ve been trained on. So caution is needed when asking it to write large blocks of research.
- When you’re using AI for content creation, remember that it is not a substitute for human creativity. AI is a tool that should be used to fill in gaps and enhance content, not as a sole source of content creation.
How do AI content generation tools support content creation – The Interviews
Here’s a quick video with the key takeaways from the interviews.
1. Ankit Solanki, Founding Team at InVideo
Q. What are your thoughts on AI for content creation?
A. We think of AI as an assistant to structure and sharpen our content.
Q. Does your team use AI for content creation? If yes, how’s the experience been? If not, are you considering using AI tech soon?
A. We use a combination of AI + human effort to write content. AI is primarily used to fill in the blanks and cover blind spots. Overall, it improves productivity and enables our content creators to spend more time doing quality work rather than menial tasks.
Q. Which content types do AI content generators work best for?
A. We are primarily using it for blog content and might use it to make content for product support and help.
Q. In which areas do you feel the AI content generators need significant improvement?
A. We haven’t used updated versions of ChatGPT yet, but we feel that its sentence structure is too overwhelming, which makes the content tedious to consume.
Q. What advice do you have for content creators & marketers looking to boost productivity using AI content generators?
A. Look at it as your aide, not a threat. Use AI to improve turnaround time for your projects.
Q. In your opinion, what are the best types of content where AI content generation has a good use case?
A. For SaaS companies, help and support pages can be done with AI. Within content marketing, SEO content can also be looked at, although we don’t want to risk getting penalized by Google, so haven’t explored that yet. ?
2. Ryan Robinson, Head of Content at Close
Q. What are your thoughts on AI for content creation?
A. AI writing tools aren’t here to take your job. Rather, they’re just that—tools. New tools that are changing the way writers write, bloggers blog, and content creators well… create content. And in fact, AI tools are empowering content creators to publish more articles, faster.
In my own writing process, I’ve been able to write articles of the same quality, on average more than 3 x faster than before.
Here’s an illustration from my free AI article writer tool, showing how my content creation process has changed. I’m saving time and shifting around where I spend the most time in my workflow—towards editing, fact-checking, and adding voice, tone & style into my articles:
Q. Does your team use AI for content creation? If yes, how’s the experience been? If not, are you considering using AI tech soon?
A. Yes! We’ve been slowly using more AI in our content creation process, and it’s been great for generating first drafts that are good enough to work with. We don’t ever get back an article that feels fully baked and ready to publish. Rather, it’s now a first draft that goes into our new content process for –
- Editing
- Fact-checking
- Adding examples
- Injecting the Close opinion
- Weaving in the human touch when it comes to voice, style, and tone
Q. Which content types do AI content generators work best for?
A. In our experience, AI content generators are still best suited for simpler requests like generating product descriptions and answering straightforward questions without a ton of nuance.
If you have the time to invest in writing super detailed prompts—or the resources to invest in using tools like Narrato and RightBlogger, you’ll get access to more refined tools with complex prompt options that can deliver much higher quality outputs.
Q. In which areas do you feel the AI content generators need significant improvement?
A. This is a double-edged sword for me. In a world in which AI generates a substantial portion of our digital content, being human & weaving your emotional intelligence into your content becomes a superpower. While I’m tempted to say I’d like to see AI content generators improve at their humanness, I’m not confident they’ll ever be able to “match” our humanity.
Q. What advice do you have for content creators & marketers looking to boost productivity using AI content generators?
A. Open your mind to experimentation. Just take an hour to genuinely try using a few different AI tools that fit your needs and see how it feels. Most of the skeptics I know haven’t spent more than a few minutes asking questions with ChatGPT before deciding this isn’t for them.
I’d challenge you to shift your mindset around the role AI content tools can play in your work life, and experiment with what it’d be like to embrace them in your content creation process. You’ll quickly see how these tools can significantly cut down your writing time, especially when it comes to listicles and more SEO-first content.
3. Cathy McPhillips, Chief Growth Officer at Marketing AI Institute
Q. What are your thoughts on AI for content creation?
A. When it comes to AI for content creation, there is more to it than just having artificial intelligence and smarter technology create something for you. Artificial intelligence can help marketers and writers with ideation, drafting, editing, curating, researching, and more.
Artificial intelligence is here to augment what writers are doing, not replace them. Writers who solely depend on AI to create content aren’t using the tool the right way. You have to –
- Take the time to make it your own
- Differentiate it from their competitors
- Edit it for content, accuracy, and clarity
Q. Does your team use AI for content creation? If yes, how’s the experience been? If not, are you considering using AI tech soon?
A. We do! A few ways we use AI for content creation are through our podcast, our blog posts, and our social content. Every podcast episode involves a few steps, including –
- Summarizing show notes
- Creating blog posts from the podcast
- Creating social media content to distribute and repurpose the podcast content
On our blog, we use AI to summarize articles in the news and rewrite the content as needed. AI also helps us with a blog outline or content ideation before a piece of content is written. For social shares, we use AI to help pull out the most important pieces of a post, a video, or a third-party article. It saves us time and helps us surface the most important part or parts of contact.
Through all of this, we never use AI-generated content verbatim. It needs a human on our team to edit, review, and fact-check the content.
Q Which content types do AI content generators work best for?
A. In my opinion, content generators and generative AI work for any type of content, but we use them most for written content and podcast preparation. It has helped us verbalize some ideas, summarize content into both posts and new ideas, and given us a new way of presenting a topic to our audience.
Q. In which areas do you feel the AI content generators need significant improvement?
A. With any new technology and any new advancement in technology, there’s always room for improvement. Even the makers of these technology solutions know that these iterations have a long way to go. For example, ChatGPT has been known to give inaccurate information—partly because it has a limited training set and also because the training stopped at the end of 2021.
That said, no content marketers, content creators, or writers should use ChatGPT or any generative AI technology verbatim. There should still be the process of editing, checking for accuracy, and improving the quality of the text. The more data that is input into OpenAI or any other model, the more these tools will continue to improve.
In time, there will be more models available to the public like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, and marketers will need to work to find the technologies that make the most sense for them and their needs.
Q. What advice do you have for content creators & marketers looking to boost productivity using AI content generators?
A. For writers, content marketers, and content creators out there who have not stepped into the world of artificial intelligence and generative AI, I say it’s time to get started. We have an Intro to AI class for Marketers that we hold every few weeks. This free, 30-minute virtual class goes through what AI is, what it means for marketers, and how marketers can begin to pilot some programs of their own. And it doesn’t need to be an overhaul of a tech stack, it can simply be a very basic use case to test out. It’s important to understand what is happening in the world and how AI will become a part of our daily life as marketers. I would also suggest testing out some tools.
There are so many technologies available that are working hard to help marketers do better, smarter, and more fulfilling work. Many of these solutions have a free trial or very low costs and barriers to entry. So I recommend folks test out the tools and see which one works best for you. I also encourage people to take the time to truly test out the technology because oftentimes, it’s the marketer/human giving the technology solution incomplete information, rendering the output unsatisfactory. We must remember it’s (always) not the technology‘s fault for the output.
So keep testing and keep learning and reading about prompts and how to use the tools, and read forums and groups where others are also trying to learn and keep up. And just see how AI fits into your life. Our CEO Paul Roetzer says –
“AI I won’t replace writers, but writers who are using AI will replace writers who are not.”
Q. In your opinion, what are the best types of content where AI content generation has a good use case?
A. I think AI and content creation fit together when it makes sense for you. We all have different use cases and ways that AI can fit into our lives.
- If I am a strong writer but need help with editing, Grammarly might be my best friend
- If I am a great writer but sometimes get stuck on how to get started with a post, ChatGPT might be a game-changer in the outline part of my writing process
- If I want to repurpose the content from my podcast and turn it into a post or other form of content, Descript could help me do that
So find your use case and find where you have the biggest opportunity to save time and resources and get started there. And connect with me! I’m happy to help in any way I can.
4. Drew Wilkinson, Head of Marketing at SimpleTexting
Q What are your thoughts on AI for content creation?
A. AI is a blessing and a curse for content marketers. On one hand, tools like ChatGPT and AI writing assistants can significantly speed up content creation and allow copywriters to spend more time strategizing and measuring their efforts. On the other hand, AI content creation tools make it easier for people to crank out content en masse that covers a lot of topics but provides little to no value to readers. Marketers have to realize that it’s more important to show expertise, authority, trustworthiness, and experience in every piece of content they produce.
We’re so invested in this technology that we’re planning to add an SMS writing assistant to our text message marketing platform, so our customers can get the same benefits without leaving their dashboard.
Q. Does your team use AI for content creation? If yes, how’s the experience been? If not, are you considering using AI tech soon?
A. Our content team uses AI to speed up the outlining and writing process, so they can build our library of helpful content more quickly and stay on top of industry trends.
There were some learning curves in the beginning, like knowing which prompts to enter into ChatGPT to get useful responses and testing out writing assistants to see which provide the best suggestions.
Now, though, these tools are another part of their tech stack, just like SEMrush and WordPress.
Q. Which content types do AI content generators work best for?
A. AI content generators can work for multiple content formats, like –
- Articles
- Video scripts
- Landing pages
- Webinar outlines
- Emails
- Social media posts
Be specific about the goal of the content and its target audience.
For example, instead of a prompt like, “Write a social media post about SMS marketing for small businesses,” guide the tool using a more descriptive prompt like –
“Write a social media post that convinces small business owners to try SMS marketing for their next sale or promotion. Keep it under three sentences.”
Q. In which areas do you feel the AI content generators need significant improvement?
A. We’ve found that some AI content generators have trouble staying within the word and character limits. For example, we tested ChatGPT on writing SMS messages (which are limited to 160 characters), and it struggled with every prompt.
Q. What advice do you have for content creators & marketers looking to boost productivity using AI content generators?
A. Start small. Don’t ask an AI content generator to write an entire article for you. Instead, use it to –
- Create an outline
- Write out definitions
- Rewrite copy
- Brainstorm headlines
- And do other simple tasks
Always check the content output for factual errors and potential plagiarism with AI content detection tools. Because AI tools draw upon other sources, you run the risk of it pulling information that’s out of date, inaccurate, or copied straight from another source with little word variation.
Q. In your opinion, what are the best types of content where AI content generation has a good use case?
A. AI content generators are excellent for informational and educational content. In our industry, that might be an article about the benefits of SMS marketing for a specific industry or a tutorial on setting up appointment reminder text messages.
If you’re building out a library of content about a topic related to your product or service, AI content generators can provide you with a good starting point.
- Choose topics that target top and middle-of-the-funnel audiences
- Don’t forget to fact-check information
- Check for plagiarism
- Edit the copy to fit your brand’s tone of voice and style
5. Jonathan Herrick, CEO at Benchmark Email
Q. What are your thoughts on AI for content creation?
A. Content marketing revolutionized the way brands sell by allowing consumers to guide their own sales journey and connect with sales only when they felt educated and ready to make a purchase. Now, AI is completely disrupting the process of how content is generated.
Just like content marketing leveled the playing field between small brands and large enterprises, AI-generated content is allowing small, nimble teams to generate content more quickly than ever. We are on the cusp of a new era for marketing, yet the same principles that originally applied to content marketing still apply here.
- Knowing your target audience and their pain points will be key to successfully leveraging the tool
- Bringing unique viewpoints and experiences will help brands create content that stands apart and resonates most with their customers
Instead of just adding to the noise, the most successful marketers will devise thoughtful, creative AI prompts to generate compelling, high-quality content that resonates with their audience.
Q. Does your team use AI for content creation? If yes, how’s the experience been? If not, are you considering using AI tech soon?
A. We’ve leveraged AI in all facets of content creation. It’s not just useful for generating end-user content but helpful when it comes to nailing the overall content strategy. We’ve used AI to quickly generate and organize a content cluster around a key page. From there, we’ve been able to produce title ideas, supporting content, and meta descriptions. It’s very similar to working with a team of outsourced writers. Instead of outsourcing, we can generate base content and then truly leverage our team’s expertise to refine the content and add our unique voice.
We immediately recognized the potential of AI and were inspired to make it easy and accessible for our customers to leverage AI when it comes to email copy. We’ve incorporated AI into our email marketing platform, Benchmark Email. Our AI tool, Smart Content, is powered by OpenAI and makes it simple for marketers to generate new content or improve existing content – without adding additional team members to do the heavy lifting.
Q. Which content types do AI content generators work best for?
A. It’s really not the type of content but the expertise of our content team that dictates the success of AI content. Whether it’s email copy, a landing page, an article, or an ad, we’re the subject matter experts for our audience of email marketers. We’ve got to stay ahead of the curve and understand what questions we should be asking and answering for our audience.
AI content generators are remarkable, but they still require the human touch. Using AI in the content creation process requires a skilled editor to review the content, fact-check, and ensure tone, grammar, and flow are all on point.
Q. In which areas do you feel the AI content generators need significant improvement?
A. Content generators could give users more confidence in the output. At present, there’s not a lot of transparency around the sources the output is derived from. While a block of content may look and sound authoritative, the user must do some digging and fact-checking to decide if it truly is or not.
Another significant improvement would be making it simple for users to choose where the AI-generated content is sourced from – for instance, easily creating and adding to their own library of fact-checked, brand-approved content to shape AI-generated output.
Q. What advice do you have for content creators & marketers looking to boost productivity using AI content generators?
A. With the media attention on ChatGPT, AI-generated content is a marketing tool that has captured the attention of not just marketers but the general population. It’s a unique opportunity for marketers to observe and take part in the conversation around AI-generated content. Marketers are finding new ways to leverage AI in their processes every day – it’s not a one-size fits all solution.
There is also a lot of buzz around how search engines, like Google, will adapt to AI-generated content. Will sites be penalized for AI-generated content in the near future? Keeping a close watch on search trends will help marketers stay ahead of the curve.
There are a ton of tools out there, and all come with different features and capabilities. Make sure you do your research and identify the right tools according to your needs. Otherwise, you could be paying for software you barely use.
Maybe focus on one area, like content creation, and see how that goes. Then see what AI tools out there come with additional features, like SEO assistance and internal linking. Because there are so many options available, it’s important to know what your immediate needs are and then build from there to see what helps you reach your goals.
Q. In your opinion, what are the best types of content where AI content generation has a good use case?
A. The best types of content are ones in which your team has subject matter expertise. This helps us ensure the quality of the content and make the appropriate edits to turn AI-generated content into a unique or helpful piece. It’s the human element that will turn regurgitation into new and interesting insights.
6. Elisha Gada, SMB Marketing Manager, Meta
Q. What are your thoughts on AI for content creation?
A. AI tools could be a good starting point for ideation. However, for any professional content creation, it could be hard for AI to replicate brand voice. More so, intellectual property rights on AI content are still unclear and I would stay away from using it for commercial purposes until that is figured out.
Q. In which areas do you feel the AI content generators need significant improvement?
A. AI tools that could be trained on pieces of your past content and can then help generate responses would be ideal. It would be great if it can take inputs from trending search terms and ensure the content is SEO-friendly as well.
Q. What advice do you have for content creators & marketers looking to boost productivity using AI content generators?
A. Use it as a starting point but don’t forget to add your personal touch to it.
Q. In your opinion, what are the best types of content where AI content generation has a good use case?
A. AI generation would be great for internal communications, sales enablement or to be used for sales for customer outreach to ensure they are presenting themselves professionally as well as efficiently.
7. NathanGotch, Founder, GotchSEO
Q. What are your thoughts on AI for content creation?
A. AI for content creation is a game-changer. It has the potential to significantly increase productivity by automating routine tasks, which frees up time for creators to focus on strategic aspects of content. However, it’s crucial to remember that AI is a tool, not a substitute for human creativity and insight.
Q. Does your team use AI for content creation? If yes, how’s the experience been?
A. At Gotch SEO, we are in the early stages of integrating AI into our content creation process. It’s been an interesting journey so far, and we are excited about the potential improvements in efficiency and creativity it can bring.
Q. Which content types do AI content generators work best for?
A. AI content generators work best for data-driven content like reports, analytics, and in some cases, blog drafts. They’re also effective for social media content, which often requires high volumes of output.
Q. In which areas do you feel the AI content generators need significant improvement?
A. While AI has come a long way, it still needs improvements in understanding context and nuance. It’s also not yet capable of effectively mimicking the emotional resonance that human writers can inject into their content. There are strides being made in this area, but it’s still a significant limitation.
Q. What advice do you have for content creators & marketers looking to boost productivity using AI content generators?
A. My advice to content creators and marketers is to view AI as a tool that complements your work, not replaces it. Use AI to handle routine tasks and content generation at scale, but ensure that a human touch refines and personalizes the final output.
Q. In your opinion, what are the best types of content where AI content generation has a good use case?
A. AI shines in areas where content is more structured and data-oriented. This includes –
- Writing product descriptions
- Generating metadata
- Optimizing ad copies
- Drafting basic reports
However, for content that requires deep emotional engagement or nuanced understanding, human content creators are still unmatched.
AI in content creation is an exciting field with immense potential. It’s all about finding the right balance and using AI to augment our abilities, not replace them.

Q. In your opinion, what are the best types of content where AI content generation has a good use case?
A. AI is a game-changer in content creation, making it faster and more efficient. It shines in data-driven content but needs a boost in human-like creativity. Use AI as a tool to enhance productivity, but keep the human touch alive.
9. V. Michael Santoro, Founder, Brand Velocity
Q. What are your thoughts on AI for content creation?
A. When used correctly, AI is good for helping with writer’s block and as a research tool to generate comprehensive article outlines and good headlines. If detailed prompts are used, AI can generate the article content as well. Besides this, AI is also useful for converting article content into video scripts, email messages, and social media posts.
Q. Does your team use AI for content creation? If yes, how’s the experience been?
A. Yes, we use ChatGPT to create content. Initially, our experience with AI has been time-consuming. After a considerable amount of prompt engineering, we’ve refined a process to generate higher quality and longer-form content. We are now able to save time in content creation by only having to modify the prompts.
Q. Which content types do AI content generators work best for?
A. We use AI to first generate topically relevant articles and then convert the articles into YouTube video scripts, properly formatted social media posts, and email messages.
Q. In which areas do you feel the AI content generators need significant improvement?
A. AI content is easily detectible, and eventually Google may not rank the content unless the content contains both expertise and experience to further help your audience. Having the AI content appear human-generated and plagiarism-checking capabilities can be some improvements to look forward to.
Q. What advice do you have for content creators & marketers looking to boost productivity using AI content generators?
A. Don’t press the easy button and expect results. Learn how to write comprehensive prompts to generate content based on competitive and keyword research. Write content with sound content SEO techniques, following Google E-E-A-T protocol: Experience – Expertise – Authority – Trust.
Q. In your opinion, what are the best types of content where AI content generation has a good use case?
A. AI content generation tools are versatile and users can use their creativity to write customized prompts for any type of content. The primary use case is in writing article content which is the foundation for the other types of content.
10. Jeff Wenzel, VP of Crowdfunding and Marketing, KoreConx

Q. In which areas do you feel the AI content generators need significant improvement?
A. While AI content generators have made remarkable progress, several areas still require improvement. One key aspect is ensuring the generated content aligns with the brand’s tone of voice and style guidelines. AI tools need to better understand context and nuances to deliver content that resonates with the target audience.
Additionally, refining the ability to fact-check, reduce bias, and improve coherence in generated content are areas that demand attention. Continuous training and refinement of AI models will contribute to addressing these challenges.
Q. What advice do you have for content creators & marketers looking to boost productivity using AI content generators?
A. For content creators and marketers interested in leveraging AI content generators, here are some valuable recommendations:
- Begin with a clear content strategy: Define your goals, target audience, and brand voice to guide the AI-generated content effectively.
- Use AI as a tool, not a replacement: Embrace AI as a means to enhance productivity and creativity, allowing humans to focus on high-value tasks that require emotional intelligence and unique perspectives.
- Fine-tune and review: Although AI-generated content can be impressive, it still requires human oversight. Review and edit the generated content to ensure accuracy, coherence, and alignment with brand guidelines.
- Experiment and iterate: Test different AI writing tools and approaches to find what works

Additionally, understanding sarcasm or other nuances can prove challenging sometimes.
Q. What advice do you have for content creators & marketers looking to boost productivity using AI content generators?
A. If you’re looking to boost productivity as a marketer or writer, using AI-powered tools like GPT-3 or Codex can significantly help generate new ideas quickly without sacrificing quality.
Our advice would be always proofread before publishing any automated output from these writing technologies because they might lack context at times.
We believe that AI-generated content will continue evolving over time with advancements being made daily on language models’ development fronts worldwide so let’s keep an open mind while utilizing this groundbreaking technology!
13. Erin Calugay, Digital Marketing Manager, Tomedes
Q. What are your thoughts on AI for content creation?
A. AI for content creation is a real game-changer. It can do wonders for repetitive tasks and quick generation of high-volume content.
Yet, nothing beats the nuance of human creativity, especially in the translation industry where cultural sensitivity is paramount.
Q. Does your team use AI for content creation? If yes, how’s the experience been?
A. Yes, we do. We’ve integrated AI into our content creation efforts and it’s really streamlined our workflow. But it’s not perfect. Our human writers are still the final arbiters of quality, which is necessary in our business.
Q. Which content types do AI content generators work best for?
A. AI content generators excel in producing structured content like reports or articles, where guidelines are clear. Yet, they’re not as proficient with creative or highly localized content.
Q. In which areas do you feel the AI content generators need significant improvement?
A. AI content generators still need to improve in understanding context, especially in translation. Subtleties, idioms, and regional dialects can often be lost, which can lead to miscommunication.
Q. What advice do you have for content creators & marketers looking to boost productivity using AI content generators?
A. My advice is to see AI as a tool, not a replacement. Use AI to handle high-volume tasks and first drafts, but always refine with a human touch to ensure your content resonates with your audience.
Q. In your opinion, what are the best types of content where AI content generation has a good use case?
A. In my experience, AI works best for data-heavy content, such as market reports or business analytics. It can quickly digest and summarize complex data, which can be a huge time-saver.
14. Andre Oentoro, CEO and Content Head, BreadnBeyond
Q. What are your thoughts on AI for content creation?
A. I believe AI has become a blessing for our team rather than a threat. It speeds up our ideation process and overall planning. It is specifically helpful when our team overcomes creative blocks and enriches their ideas.
On the other hand, AI-generated content also comes with drawbacks. One that we worry about the most is content authenticity. Therefore, I always encourage my team to never take it for granted when producing content with AI.
Our job is to know how to use AI tools wisely. So, even though AI has been a great rescue for saving time, we can never rely on it entirely. Human creativity is necessary for content creation, whether to add or eliminate something.
Q. Does your team use AI for content creation? If yes, how’s the experience been?
A. Yes, our team uses AI for content creation, especially ChatGPT and JasperAI, for producing written content. We use ChatGPT to produce enticing blog titles with specific keywords, find the main ideas in a paragraph, and create a blog outline.
We can’t directly copy-paste content generated from AI. Based on our experience, Google detects AI-generated content, which will affect our website negatively when this happens. So, we always check our content with AI content detection tools and ensure it is human-written.
We are also considering using AI tech for video creation. However, we are still contemplating whether or not to execute this idea. Again, one thing that becomes our concern is visual authenticity and inaccuracy, which can result in misleading information.
Q. Which content types do AI content generators work best for?
A. AI content generators are best for –
- Generating ideas (titles and topics)
- Creating an outline
- Finding descriptions, and explaining terms in a simple way
I would recommend using ChatGPT for producing blog titles. It gives you enticing title options instantly with specific keywords you request. You can still modify the title based on your preference and writing style. However, tools like ChatGPT can produce inaccurate information, so we encourage users to always check and recheck content credibility.
Q. In which areas do you feel the AI content generators need significant improvement?
A. I think free tools like ChatGPT lack accuracy, especially in the recent news. In fact, its responses were generated based on the information available up to September 2021.
As we wait for it to update its knowledge to recent years, I’m also considering Google Bard when looking for specific information. Google Bard knowledge is more updated than ChatGPT, so it can be a good alternative.
Q. What advice do you have for content creators & marketers looking to boost productivity using AI content generators?
A. Use AI tools for generating ideas and titles; they are experts on that task. You may need to modify it, but it won’t be time-consuming.
Also, always check your content on AI content detectors like Writer.com and Zero GPT to ensure content authenticity.
Q. In your opinion, what are the best types of content where AI content generation has a good use case?
A. AI tools work wonders in producing written and visual content. While some AI tools are designed specifically to produce written content, others are purposed to generate visuals.
AI models can generate realistic images and videos, including deep fakes, artistic interpretations, and virtual environments. Some popular options are Deep Art and Deep Dream.
15. Abhi Bavishi, Growth Marketer and Founder, Smartify
Q. What are your thoughts on AI for content creation?
A. AI for content creation is a game-changer. It can save time while producing high-quality content consistently, unlike humans. With AI, you can easily automate tasks like drafting blog posts, creating social media captions, and generating ad copies.
Q. Does your team use AI for content creation? If yes, how’s the experience been?
A. Our team is currently experimenting with AI for content creation. While the experience has been smooth so far, we are still observing the results and making necessary adjustments. We believe that AI tech can significantly improve our content quality and speed.
Q. Which content types do AI content generators work best for?
A. AI content generators work best for short-form content types like social media captions, ad copies, and email marketing. However, we have started to experiment with long-form content like blog posts and articles, and we’re seeing positive results.
Q. In which areas do you feel the AI content generators need significant improvement?
A. While AI content generators have come a long way, there’s still room for improvement. The biggest challenge we face is making the content sound authentic and human-like. Also, the content generated by AI can lack originality and brand voice, which can affect its effectiveness.
Q. What advice do you have for content creators & marketers looking to boost productivity using AI content generators?
A. My advice for content creators & marketers would be to use AI content generators as a support tool instead of relying entirely on it.
Also, invest time in training the AI models to understand your brand’s voice and tone, and make necessary adjustments to make the content sound more authentic.
Q. In your opinion, what are the best types of content where AI content generation has a good use case?
A. In my opinion, AI content generation has a good use case in short-form content types like –
- Social media captions
- Ad copies
- Email marketing
However, I believe that AI can also be beneficial for creating long-form content like blog posts and articles with proper training and adjustments.
16. Justin Calderon, Founder, Mint Position
Q. What are your thoughts on AI for content creation?
A. Generative AI is a powerful virtual assistant. It effectively kills the writer’s block dilemma for good because now writers will always have a readily-available assistant to bounce ideas off of.
Let’s be certain: AI cannot perfectly write content like a human, but what it can do is augment the talents of human writers and editors.
Q. Does your team use AI for content creation? If yes, how’s the experience been?
A. We use two AI-based tools. Clearscope, which uses Google’s Natural Language AI and IBM’s Watson to grade the SEO performance of content. And of course, we use ChatGPT, but mostly for ideation for writing headlines and marketing messages. The tool is not yet capable of qualifying research or other complex tasks that a human experience with a human network of experts can do.
Q. Which content types do AI content generators work best for?
A. Emotive headline creation and marketing messaging.
Headlines are a difficult and creatively taxing task. AI content generators are proving to be incredibly powerful tools for suggesting headline ideas. Maybe 8 of 10 will be bad, but two can be excellent. They will require rewriting always, but the output that we have seen has been clever and surprising headlines that are great for improving CTRs.
Q. In which areas do you feel the AI content generators need significant improvement?
A. Generative AI currently suffers from widespread hallucinations, which is a technical term for when AIs invent stories. Generative AI is a predictive language model, which means that it is using its best-guess knowledge to form ideas. This will result in the fabrication of stores, dates, and quotes within content, which is why anyone using these tools must be very careful when asking it to write large blocks of research.
Q. What advice do you have for content creators & marketers looking to boost productivity using AI content generators?
A. The best use case for AI content generators today is ideation. Writers can augment their research and interviewing skills with these tools, but not wholesale. You can prompt the tools to help generate ideas, but they cannot add unique ideas.
Ideally, the company you are writing marketing content for has a unique value proposition and is different from what already exists on the internet — if it does not, then you have a big problem. Only by doing interviews with internal and external experts and by selecting which kind of research to feature in your articles can you add uniqueness and editorial substance that is specifically relevant to your client’s target market.
AI cannot interview, it cannot select and qualify this research and it cannot study a brand that is unique and continuously evolving its unique approach to solving its market’s problems.
Q. In your opinion, what are the best types of content where AI content generation has a good use case?
A. Writing emotive headlines.
We use ChatGPT for headline ideation — and it has worked wonders. Many ideas will not be relevant, but you can cherry-pick which works best and then add your client’s positioning to it.
You should always add the target market info to the prompt, but you’ll still need to smooth it out to ensure that the title is really speaking to your target personas.
17. Geoff Crain, Senior Director of Sales and Marketing, Kingstar Media
Q. What are your thoughts on AI for content creation?
A. AI for content creation can be very helpful for brainstorming –
- Content ideas
- Best practices for creating content for specific platforms
It is also quite useful for generating blog post outlines, rough drafts, captions, and ad headlines, as well as editing content
Q. Does your team use AI for content creation? If yes, how’s the experience been?
A. We have used AI to generate trending blog topics and captions for posts. Of course, we don’t use the captions word-for-word as they often need to be edited. However, it can lead us in the right direction when creating new content.
Q. Which content types do AI content generators work best for?
A. I believe the best content for AI is short-form content like social media captions and blog outlines.
It’s important to note here that AI often generates very repetitive content that has to be thoroughly edited when writing longer pieces. However, when working with short-form and list-type content, it is great.
Q. In which areas do you feel the AI content generators need significant improvement?
A. I think AI content generators need more improvement when it comes to writing longer pieces. For blogs and articles, the content is very repetitive, with multiple sentences starting with the same words, and paragraphs including the same points throughout the blog. That is why it is very important to proofread long-form AI-generated content before publishing.
Q. What advice do you have for content creators & marketers looking to boost productivity using AI content generators?
A. I would recommend utilizing it for brainstorming and editing purposes, rather than the actual creation of content. AI is not advanced enough yet to write exactly like humans do, however, it holds enough data to provide the right information. Therefore, use it for planning, and as a stepping stool, rather than a replacement.
Q. In your opinion, what are the best types of content where AI content generation has a good use case?
A. The best types of content to utilize AI would be –
- Social media posts
- Social captions
- Blog outlines,
- Ad copy and ad scripts
There is a lot of potential when using AI for these purposes, however, it is important to always go through the AI-generated content thoroughly. AI may not utilize the same voice as that of the brand, therefore ensure all the content aligns with your brand voice.
18. Esmail Hanif, Content Marketing Manager, Trellis
Q. What are your thoughts on AI for content creation?
A. AI for content creation is still in the early stages but the use cases for content marketers look quite promising.
At the moment, Google Bard and ChatGPT with plugins do a decent job of brainstorming and researching content, but it is still up to content creators to get familiar with the opportunities and limitations of AI. One skill marketers should learn is prompt engineering, which will help them fully grasp the potential of AI.
Q. Does your team use AI for content creation? If yes, how’s the experience been?
A. We use generative AI to brainstorm ideas and create content outlines. For the actual content writing, editing, and fact-checking, particularly for in-depth analytical pieces, we rely on our own processes.
In copywriting, we had trouble providing the right context and style of writing. But this is something that is still in the process of development, as we learn more about prompt engineering.
Q. Which content types do AI content generators work best for?
A. Depending on the scope of work, we use text-based AI tools. But AI text-to-image tools and AI-powered music and video editing will become more usable as the industry creates more task-focused tools.
Q. In which areas do you feel the AI content generators need significant improvement?
A. Microsoft’s designer tools create editable social media post and graphic creation capabilities, but there is some limitation. Canva might soon come out with its text-to-design tool, which is something to look forward to.
Q. What advice do you have for content creators & marketers looking to boost productivity using AI content generators?
A. There is a whole world of prompt engineering that can give you a better idea about what generative AI can do. Learn the art of prompt engineering, and explore the capabilities of AI content generators yourself.
Q. In your opinion, what are the best types of content where AI content generation has a good use case?
A. AI content generators can be good for –
- Blog content outline
- Creating mindmap of topics
- Researching ideas
- Some editorial tasks
19. DavidReid, Sales Director, VEM Group
Q. What are your thoughts on AI for content creation?
A. AI has significantly impacted content creation by providing new tools and capabilities. It can automate different aspects of content creation, including –
- Generating ideas
- Drafting articles
- Editing content
- Creating images and videos
Q. Does your team use AI for content creation? If yes, how’s the experience been?
A. I have used AI for content creation and the experience has been largely positive. But the experience can vary depending on the specific tools used and workflows employed, as well as the goals and requirements of the content creators.
Q. Which content types do AI content generators work best for?
A. AI content generators can generate compelling and detailed AI product descriptions based on provided specifications. It can also quickly create news summaries and write articles based on the provided information, making it useful for news organizations.
Q. In which areas do you feel the AI content generators need significant improvement?
A. As a sales director, I notice that AI content generators struggle to grasp the nuances of context. This sometimes leads to inaccuracies or misinterpretations. Enhancing contextual understanding would improve the quality and applicability of generated content.
Q. What advice do you have for content creators & marketers looking to boost productivity using AI content generators?
A. It is important to note that AI-generated content should be seen as a starting point rather than the final product.
As a sales director, I advise that content creators review and edit the generated content to ensure accuracy, tone, style, and overall quality. They can add their unique perspective and make the content genuinely beneficial.
Q. In your opinion, what are the best types of content where AI content generation has a good use case?
A. In my opinion, AI content generation has been quite helpful in the e-commerce industry. The AI-generated product descriptions, customer reviews, and personalized recommendations enhance the website experience for visitors. AI can also help in generating content that is more likely to resonate with the target audience.
20. Yanna Berman Erez, Head of Marketing, Thought Leaders
Q. What are your thoughts on AI for content creation?
A. I think that AI tools are very innovative and are revolutionizing how fast we can make and edit high-quality content. Today we can easily generate great topic ideas, create articles, answer emails, reply to comments, automate chatbots, and do a whole lot more with the help of AI. And we are only at the beginning of this.
But on the flip side, everybody is using AI tools today. While AI helps generate content faster, we also need to make sure it will rank well on search engines. If not, then what’s the point of creating content?
Although AI tools can generate highly informative articles, they still need to include our personal insights as subject matter experts. This is what will make our content stand out, and attract the target audience.
Q. Does your team use AI for content creation? If yes, how’s the experience been?
A. Yes, our team is using AI to generate content for our blog. However, we do not use it for all types of articles, and we do not publish 100% AI-generated articles. That’s because AI-generated content lacks our insights and company input. Another way we have utilized AI-generated content is by writing scripts for video content.
For both types of content, we provide detailed instructions on how we want the final result to look and included a list of the insights we want the content to cover.
Q. Which content types do AI content generators work best for?
A. AI content generators work best for –
- Generating ideas
- Editing short posts for social media
- Creating introductions and conclusions for articles
- Generating listicle articles based on the data we provide
Q. In which areas do you feel the AI content generators need significant improvement?
A. One area that needs improvement is the ability of AI-generated content to avoid detection by AI detectors. We want to ensure that search engines do not tag our content as being generated by AI.
Q. What advice do you have for content creators & marketers looking to boost productivity using AI content generators?
A. Consider how AI tools can automate day-to-day work. While AI tools cannot create personalized content without our own insights, they can significantly speed up and simplify our daily tasks.
For example, when creating listicle articles, we provide a basic template to an AI writing program and feed it with the data we have gathered. We then ask the AI to format the data into the provided listicle template.
Q. In your opinion, what are the best types of content where AI content generation has a good use case?
A. The best use of AI that we’ve seen is not asking the software to come up with new content, but instead using it to summarize and reformat existing content. For example, turning a blog post into a series of tweets, or even a video script that summarizes the main points of the blog. Using AI for these purposes allows the content that you have created to work harder for You.
21. Audrey Lecker, Head of Content Marketing, Videate
Q. What are your thoughts on AI for content creation?
A. I have a love/hate relationship with it. More accurately, a love/fear relationship with AI-generated content. On the one hand, it makes my work vastly easier and more effective. But on the other, it’s terrifying to consider the implications for my future as a content creator, or even a marketer! Once somebody figures out how to make it analyze data and update content in real-time, I’m out of a job.
But, so far, the excitement is outweighing the fear. My company uses it to make our customers’ lives easier, solving the massive pain point of videos that are always out of date due to constant software releases. The SaaS companies we work with have, on average, new releases every 2 weeks. That’s impossible to tackle without the help of AI and automation.
Personally, as a filmmaker, I’m obsessed with AI video. I’m able to produce quality graphics alone in my room for $10/month which just a few years ago would’ve required a full studio budget and crew to accomplish. I think we’re going to see the world of film and media absolutely explode with creators who otherwise would never get a green light from Hollywood. Now we can just do it on our own for cheap.
Q. Does your team use AI for content creation? If yes, how’s the experience been?
A. Absolutely I do. Aside from our product itself, which generates videos of clients’ software complete with graphics, mouse movements, and AI voiceover, I primarily use ChatGPT. I pretty much always have it pulled up in a tab. I use it to generate blog ideas, outlines, and the blogs
themselves– though I edit the outputs for accuracy, flow, and personality. I also use it to generate 10s of 100s of ad headlines. Usually, I have to edit those as well, but at the moment our top-performing ad is a headline pulled straight from ChatGPT. AI email writers have also been helpful in generating marketing emails, or at least giving me a starting place.
The experience of using ChatGPT has been mind-boggling for my productivity. I’m a one-woman content team right now, so it’s obviously helpful in terms of scaling my output. But for me, the biggest value has been eliminating the blank page problem. It’s so hard to start, just staring at a blinking cursor and trying to organize your thoughts. For some reason, it’s been way easier to start formulating those things as prompts, possibly because it’s like having a conversation with a helpful teammate in a way. I can just brain dump into the prompt and the tool helps me start to organize it. Sometimes I don’t even need the rest of its output, I just need a sounding board.
Q. Which content types do AI content generators work best for?
A. Anything that doesn’t require deep research or insight is a great candidate. I’ve found the most success using an AI ad copy generator and email subject line generator. But it’s also been incredibly valuable in generating email body, blog, and website copy as long as I get ultra-specific with the prompt. I was also able to get a pretty good internal corporate video script out of it.
Q. In which areas do you feel the AI content generators need significant improvement?
A. Currently, image and video generation still have a lot of issues that make them not as useful immediately. Both, from a copyright perspective and from an uncanny valley perspective. Like how it’s not able to quite understand human hands yet.
AI-generated text also has copyright issues, plus the problem of no citations. It also tends to hallucinate and make up nonsense that just happens to sound really good. That’s why editing is so critical.
For text-to-image generators like MidJourney, consistency is also a problem. If you want to, say, generate an entire ad campaign or storybook, it’s very difficult to get it to generate a consistent vibe across all the final images, or make a specific character look the same from image to image.
Q. What advice do you have for content creators & marketers looking to boost productivity using AI content generators?
A. I think everybody needs to learn how to use them in their daily lives. A lot of jobs are going to get completely replaced by AI and the people who know how to use it. That’s the scary answer.
On a more positive note, AI content generation is an absolute game changer. I used to hate coming up with so many ad headline ideas and email subject lines. One ad set would take me an entire workday. Now I can get multiple ad sets and email campaigns done in just a couple of hours.
It’s also critical that content creators and marketers get skilled at setting up their prompts. Here are some tips:
- Prime the tool with information about your brand, your goals for the project, and your target audience in order to get quality output
- Include important keywords for SEO, and it will include them in a fairly organic way
- Tell it the tone of voice, and give it examples of other writing styles (ie. tell it to write like a specific celebrity or existing brand)
Also, don’t just settle for the first thing it gives you. Continue using the prompts to further tweak the output until you’re happy. For example, “make the copy shorter and snappier”, or “don’t make it so formal”.
Treat it like a collaboration, because that’s what it is.
Q. In your opinion, what are the best types of content where AI content generation has a good use case?
A. Right now the top 3 are –
- Text
- Image
- Video
In that order. With the introduction of ChatGPT and its competitors, the text generators sound the closest to human and have the most immediate, broad applications. I’ve seen people use it to generate meal prep plans based on the ingredients they have in their pantry, diagnose medical symptoms (obviously not recommended), and in my personal life I’ve used it to generate social media content plans, captions, and scripts.
I think that within the next year, image generation is going to get so good that people will be able to use it for their brand imagery, logos, and more. And once it can generate vector-based images, graphic designers are going to feel the same pain that copywriters currently are (ie. losing clients).
22. Christopher Falvey, Co-Founder, Unique NOLA Tours
Q. What are your thoughts on AI for content creation?
A. I split this into two categories: images and text.
In terms of images, I think the future is here, and with a little work, you can produce perfect imagery for any marketing effort.
In terms of text, you have to be very very careful to proofread everything for factual errors.
All in all, I am for it. Marketing is not art.
Q. Does your team use AI for content creation? If yes, how’s the experience been?
A. I am using it for imagery. I can spend an hour and get a massive slew to pick from for like $20/month. The key here is that this imagery is custom. Stock photos don’t do it for advertising. But if you’re smart with your prompts, you can save a ton of money making your own ad imagery.
Q. Which content types do AI content generators work best for?
A. As I mentioned above, images are there. Text is not to the point where you can be confident you won’t be embarrassed by posting your AI-generated text. It will be there… may only be months!
Q. In which areas do you feel the AI content generators need significant improvement?
A. In fact-checking, for sure. And that is such a major, major part of posting text content.
Q. What advice do you have for content creators & marketers looking to boost productivity using AI content generators?
A. AI will save you time. But don’t think it will save you 90% of the time you’d normally spend. You still have to work at getting the perfect image (don’t just accept the first choice!) as well you have to fact-check all text no matter how simple.
Q. In your opinion, what are the best types of content where AI content generation has a good use case?
A. Well for our ghost tours… ghost imagery! No one knows what a ghost looks like!
23. Volodymyr Khreshchenko, CMO, Stripo Inc.
Q. What are your thoughts on AI for content creation?
A. Content creation has changed dramatically nowadays with AI and services that help create more content faster. But they do have problems when it comes to fact-checking and uniqueness. AI writing tools lack the necessary factors that make content a valuable source of information — their own thoughts, expertise, experience, and point of view. Seth Godin said:
“People like us do things like this, but if there are no people around, what is left?”
This technology looks like magic until you dive deep into this topic and understand how it works. It doesn’t have thoughts to share (yet), no innovative ideas, just algorithms, code, and math, but we can leverage it for our good for sure.
Q. Does your team use AI for content creation? If yes, how’s the experience been?
A. Yes, we are using AI. Not like an equal to our human writers, but like a helper to –
- Overcome writer’s block
- Bring some fresh look
- Gather information
- Minimize routine tasks as much as possible
- Check some specific moments like the tone of voice, clarity, etc.
We are still experimenting with different tasks and trying to adapt to improve the quality of our content, speed up its production, focus on important things where we can show our expertise, and highlight the strong sides and benefits of using our platform.
Still, there is a lot to improve in terms of our understanding and using some new features and services to move towards singularity :)
Q. Which content types do AI content generators work best for?
A. It’s a good question. We achieved the best results in small chunks of content like
- Ads for Google and social media like Facebook and Twitter
- Headlines, subject lines, and preheaders in emails. We change and adapt texts for specific frameworks
- FAQs, glossary entries, and item descriptions
- SEO optimization (headings, meta descriptions, etc.)
But still, our specialists always review these pieces before they go live to avoid problems and be consistent across all communication channels.
With bigger content pieces, it works in certain cases and with proper prompting. We are constantly changing our approaches and testing new ideas and prompts to be ahead of others.
Q. In which areas do you feel the AI content generators need significant improvement?
A. There are a lot of things we need to do or achieve, but I think our priority should be:
- Privacy and how information in prompts is used to tune the model and whether it can appear in public access
- Fact-checking to ensure AI won’t be able to make up some facts and events (if this is not a user’s request)
- Bias-free models to avoid problems with equality and preferences, especially in hiring or performance analysis
- Long-term memory to save some power prompts for specific tasks and reuse them without creating prompts from scratch
- Faster answers (for GPT 4 like we have it in the 3.5 turbo version)
Q. What advice do you have for content creators & marketers looking to boost productivity using AI content generators?
A. Glad you asked it!
- First of all, know your tasks and requirements for every single one. It is not obvious but useful when you ask AI for help. It’s like junior specialists: they want to help but without proper guidance, they won’t give you great results.
- Check every piece of content before publishing or bringing it to the audience: facts, general information, biases, or misconceptions.
- Use power prompts to cover complex tasks but use them sparingly for simple requests. Write down all necessary points, examples, tone of voice, language, format, and so on, and then compose your request.
- Form a library of prompts, reuse, and improve them.
- Share and explain it to your colleagues. Most of them are not early adopters and need your support to start using it.
Don’t be afraid of AI. It has no intent to kick you out and take your job. Great content can be born only in collaboration of human experience, point of view, expertise, attention to detail, and AI. Leverage its benefits for your good and adapt quickly.
Q. In your opinion, what are the best types of content where AI content generation has a good use case?
A. AI can help you with lots of content types: text, image, sound, graphics, 3D, video, code, games, schemes, etc. Yes, some issues are present for now, but I think all who believe that AI is not good enough to do something forget that this is relatively new tech that evolves with time. In ten years, any niche and market wouldn’t be aside from it.
24. Ziera Soda, Marketing Manager, Altitude Marketing
Q. What are your thoughts on AI for content creation?
A. Marketers are increasingly utilizing AI, like ChatGPT, to generate content ideas and compose content. Even if you’re unaware, it’s likely that you’ve already encountered AI in some capacity. While AI faces challenges regarding clarity and accuracy, it undoubtedly serves as a valuable tool for enhancing content workflow.
Q. Does your team use AI for content creation? If yes, how’s the experience been?
A. At Altitude, our team leverages ChatGPT to enhance and inspire ideas for content creation. While the overall experience has been satisfactory, it is crucial to remember that relying solely on ChatGPT may not yield high-quality work. That’s why our team diligently reviews and edits the output, making it an essential component of our process.
Q. Which content types do AI content generators work best for?
A. AI Content Generators work best for written content. These include –
- Blogs
- Guides
- White Papers
- Social media posts
- Emails
- Website copy, etc.
AI can help generate and get you started with anything you can physically write.
Q. In which areas do you feel the AI content generators need significant improvement?
A. AI Content Generators require significant improvement in accuracy and quality. These generators rely on gathering information from existing sources on the web and assembling it to create content. This information provided by AI may not always accurately align with the information you need. Therefore, reviewing and modifying the AI-generated content becomes necessary to ensure its suitability and relevance for your specific use case.
Also, remember that Google may devalue AI-generated content if it is not checked for quality and correctness.
Q. What advice do you have for content creators & marketers looking to boost productivity using AI content generators?
A. Utilizing AI can help you accomplish tasks quickly. Similar to any other tool, AI content generators are not flawless. Despite their potential to enhance productivity, the generated output may lack accuracy.
